The manufacturing process of automobile wheels is forging. Forging is divided into: gravity forging and low pressure forging. Gravity forging is very simple, using liquid alloy to pour into the mold, the cost is relatively low; today we mainly explain low pressure forging. Low-pressure forged metal has high density, good strength, high safety factor and complex shape. It is the main production method of aluminum alloy wheels at present, and the production process is highly automated.


The material is generally aluminum alloy steel. Such long steel must not be processed directly. It needs to be cut into aluminum alloy bars with the same shape. First, fix the bars on the cutting table.


A structure similar to a bench vise, the steel rod is tightened on the cutting table, and the cutting is performed after the tightening is completed.


Large bars are in turn cut into smaller bars of uniform shape.


Forging


Before forging, the steel rod needs to be heated, and the temperature is controlled at 977 degrees Celsius.


After the furnace is released, it enters the next process - forging.


Using high pressure, the heated metal is pressed into the rough blank of the wheel hub.


In this way, the rough embryo is completed. Enter the next process spinning


Spinning is not difficult to understand, it is to rotate the workpiece and apply a certain pressure to the workpiece, and the workpiece is stretched to the shape of the model under the pressure. After the spinning is completed, the model of the hub has been made.


Surface treatment and inspection


The formed wheel hub needs to be processed on the surface profile, and then an advanced CNC milling machine is used.


After CNC milling is completed, the rough outline of the wheel hub has been produced, and then the wheel hub needs to be polished with external assistance.


After the outer edge of the hub is polished, it's time to polish the inner part of the hub.


The wheel hub is thus completed. The most critical step is the inspection of the wheel hub.


The inspection link is mainly to test the roundness of the hub. After the inspection is completed, the good products flow into the client, and the defective products are refurbished or scrapped according to the actual situation.


In daily life, I don't know if you have noticed the shape of car wheels. Car hub spokes are generally odd, why is this?


First explain to everyone that even pairs of spokes, like the six o'clock dial, the rim is symmetrical, then the symmetrical spokes will be in a straight line. What will be the effect of exercise?


When the tire touches the ground, one side of the tire is impacted, and the resulting shock vibration will be directly transmitted to the symmetrical spokes. Such a symmetrical structure design will make the vibrations between the spokes begin to transmit to each other, so that the continuous superposition produces resonance. It makes the car unstable and also increases the wear of the tires.


Then the odd-numbered pairs of hubs transmit ground vibrations to each spoke evenly, which can reduce tire wear and improve driving comfort.
